Lotta Love Blocks Tutorial
Hi, everyone! I cannot believe it’s already February. It seems like we were just chatting One Scrappy Santa yesterday, but now we’re on to hearts and pink and love. To celebrate this new season, I’m excited to share a “lovely” new tutorial with you over on the Havel’s Sewing blog!
Quilt Block Mania - November 2022: Night Camper Block (aka Sunset Tent)
Hello, November Quilt Block Mania-ers! It’s been a few months since I participated in Quilt Block Mania, but I thought this month’s camping theme was too endearing to skip. Let me introduce you to my Night Camper block!
Quilt Block Mania - November 2022: Night Camper Block
Hello, November Quilt Block Mania-ers! It’s been a few months since I participated in Quilt Block Mania, but I thought this month’s camping theme was too endearing to skip. Let me introduce you to my Night Camper block!
One Scrappy Pumpkin (Tutorial)
I’m back with another free Halloween block tutorial for you! This simple scrappy pumpkin combines squares and HSTs to create a super-size 18.5” block. Like the One Scrappy Witch block, this pumpkin is perfect for inserting into all your Halloween quilts, pillows, or wall hangings.
Meet One Scrappy Witch! (New Block Pattern)
There are so many cute Halloween fabrics available these days, and I wanted to create a pattern that would let me use as many of them as possible. Scrappy witches have yet to have their day in the sun, so I decided to put an end to that, and the result is the One Scrappy Witch block, a simple and fun addition to your Halloween sewing repertoire.
Modern Service Quilts Scrappy Strip Dash Quilt
Did you see the blog post that went up on the Modern Service Quilts blog this week with all the info on the solids version of Strip Dash we made for this month’s collaboration? It provides a lot of fabulous eye candy and inspiration if you’re looking to make your own service-quilt version of the pattern. But if you’ve been following along on IG or this blog this month, you know I’ve also been working on another scrappy version, and I’m excited to share the finished top!
Strip Dash Scrappy Baby Quilt Reveal
It's been a while since I've gotten the chance to do a new quilt reveal! Things had been oh-so-busy around here on the tech-editing side of things (a good problem to have), but it's meant less time for my own sewing. Top that off with general summer craziness, and well, you know how it is. So I'm all the more excited to finally be sharing this finished bright, happy scrappy baby version of the Strip Dash quilt!
Strip Dash Release Day!
Today is my 39th birthday (SO close to the big one), and what better way to celebrate than with a quilt pattern release! I’m so excited to introduce the latest in my collection of beginner-level, precut-friendly patterns, the Strip Dash quilt!
Heart Pinnies Galore
As you probably know by now, I love making pincushions, especially small ones (evidence here and here to start). But once I brought my Maker’s Heart paper-piecing pattern into existence, the obsession has gone up a whole other notch. Heart pinnies galore around here!
Make Way for Maker’s Heart!
Just in time for Valentine’s, introducing the Maker’s Heart pattern! After making my Heart of Hearts quilt pattern, I couldn’t get the block out of my brain and kept dreaming of how cute it would be in mini form (because everything’s cuter when you shrink it, right?). And a tiny heart deserves to be nestled into a tiny pincushion, so I couldn’t resist offering you two options for that as well.
Scrap-Worthy Mini Pinnies
Sewing creates a lot of scraps. I’ve always been one to hold on to almost every scrap I make, but of course, more often than not, they just wind up in a scrap basket and are never touched or seen from again. When I was working on the quilts for my Heart of Hearts pattern, I noticed the cutest little pile of color scraps accumulating on the corner of my cutting mat and knew it was the perfect opportunity to make some precious little pincushions.
Christmas Cheer Blocks Tutorial
Today, I’m so excited to share a new tutorial with you over on the Havel’s Sewing blog! After making the Halloween BOO! Blocks pattern, I couldn’t resist adding on to it for more holiday fun. So meet the Christmas Cheer Blocks! With the simple addition of “H,” “J,” and “Y” blocks to the “O” in the original pattern, you’re all set for the holidays with blocks that can spell out “HoHoHo” and “Joy.”
