Fabric Palette Friday #5: Cool Solids
Happy Fabric Palette Friday (errr, Saturday. Sorry I’m a bit late this weekend.)! This week is a return to solids. This bundle found its way into my cart when I perusing Cottoneer Fabrics one day. I wasn’t even trying to put anything specific together and was trying to flesh out my solids collection with some new Art Gallery colors that I just loved. But when I saw them side by side in the cart, I knew they were destined to be together in a quilt.
Soon after, they found their way into one of the test quilts for my Folded in Love pattern. As you can see, I made a few changes to the pattern after this one, including making that center triangle smaller (proportional with the stripes), but I admit I still love this version. The solids are Art Gallery Pure Solids in Sweet Fig, Dragon Fruit, Ocean Waves, Crystalline, and Night Sea (background). I used Dragon Fruit for the pop of color on the binding as well.
The beautiful quilting was done by my wonderful longarmer, Lilo Whitener-Fey of Trace Creek Quilting. The pattern is called Behold.
Leave a comment if you really love something and join in on Instagram using #fabricpalettefriday to share your own creations! This will be the last Fabric Palette Friday of the year, but I’m excited to share lots more color inspiration with you in 2022, so stay tuned. Happy holidays!
