Fabric Palette Friday #24: A Walk in the Meadow

Happy Fabric Palette Friday! This week, I tried to take the palette in a new direction, stretching beyond some of my normal go-to colors (though it seems I couldn’t resist squeezing a little teal in there). I started with the pink and green Rifle Paper Co. floral as my inspiration print. I love the unusual greens in the print and tried to pull some of them out (to the extent possible using my stash, in which the greens tend more toward citron and lime, not olive and forest).

I love the pale “ballet slipper” pinks that have become popular in recent years. They’re a lovely way to include fabrics that will largely read as neutrals but that also include a bit more color. The green embroidered woven adds some lovely texture, and both green prints include a range of shades, which mimics the range found in the floral print as well as adding visual interest. As usual, a variety of print types and scales adds movement and draws your attention to different parts of the palette (and the resulting quilt).
