She’s a Cover Girl — Meet the Tiled Quilt!
She’s a cover girl! I’m so excited to announce my latest pattern, Tiled, is in the newest issue of Make Modern magazine. And not just that, but she’s on the cover! What an honor. If you don’t already subscribe, Make Modern is an awesome digital quilting magazine based in Australia (don’t worry, the measurements all use inches). Released bi-monthly (every other month), each issue is packed with quilt patterns and interesting articles. This was my first time working with the Make Modern team, and it was truly a pleasure (psst…I already have another pattern scheduled for an upcoming issue)!
But what about the quilt, you ask?! Well, Tiled was inspired by exactly what it sounds like — tiles! Specifically, some tiles in the bathroom of an AirBNB we stayed in a few years ago. You can really find inspiration anywhere you look. A simple block rotated and sashed makes for a truly dramatic finish, one that could go in so many different directions depending on your fabric choices.
The Throw quilt finishes at 61 ½” square. In my version, I used Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids in Mauvelous, Sweet Fig, Field of Lavender, Verve Violet, Lavender Water, and Purple Wine. Aren't they just beautiful?! This fun design was topped off with longarm quilting by the ever-delightful Lilo Whitener-Fey of Trace Creek Quilting using the Pinwheels 60° pantograph by Patricia Ritter.
