Rocket Pops Free Quilt Pattern
While summer doesn’t always scream quilt sewing for everyone, when the itch to get behind the machine strikes, it’s nice to have a quick and satisfying project in your back pocket. Even better if it’s summer themed, right?!
Well, today, I’m excited to reveal a new FREE quilt pattern for you and all your summer sewing needs. Over the years, I’ve made a number of popsicle-themed quilt tutorials (here, here, and here), but this year, I decided to return to the original Ombré Popsicle throw quilt for a spin celebrating the iconic (trademarked, wink) American popsicle we’ve all loved since our earliest ice-cream truck days. The strip-pieced Rocket Pops throw quilt goes together even faster than the original because it’s got half the number of stripes, and it’s the perfect backdrop for summer picnics.
I’ve mocked it up in solids, of course. Try it in your own range of solids or small-scale prints to make those popsicles “pop”!
The pattern includes instructions for a throw-size quilt — 50″ x 62″ — perfect for hauling around on all your summer adventures. Throw it in the back of the car and go! I can’t wait to see your version! Click here for the tutorial, which you can find on the Havel’s Sewing blog.
