Fabric Palette Friday #3: Hexie Tiles

Happy Fabric Palette Friday! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen yesterday’s post about my Hexie Tiles quilt not getting into QuiltCon this year. I was pretty bummed to get the rejection letter but also not terribly surprised. It’s a relatively simple quilt, and they received the most entries they ever had, so the odds weren’t in my favor. Still, it would have been nice to see it hanging in Phoenix.

So it only seemed appropriate to share the fabric pull for Hexie Tiles for today’s palette! This solids bundle contains what you could call my “signature” colors, especially shades of teal and citron. I use them all the time because I just can’t resist. It’s also proof that it’s totally okay to mix and match solids from different fabric lines in a single project. The fabrics pictured are (from top to bottom) Art Gallery Pure Solid in Lemon Tart, Kona Cotton in Pickle, Cotton Couture in Acid, Kona Cotton in Peapod, Cotton Couture in Lagoon and Marine, Art Gallery Pure Solid in Mirage Blue, Kona Cotton in Jade Green and Astral, and a mystery solid from my stash that I think is a Moda Bella Solid (but it’s a pretty close match to my Kona Cotton Surf color card, if you’re looking to reproduce this bundle).
